Empoorio was founded on the belief that people should own their digital identity — cryptographically secured, portable across services, and anchored on EmpoorioChain without platform lock-in. Today we are building KryptoOS, the sovereign identity layer for wallets, cloud, and enterprise integrators worldwide.
EmpoorioChain anchors identity commitments on-chain with Substrate pallets for DID registry and VC anchoring. You will ship runtime code, node operations, and tooling for public testnet and beyond. We are looking for a talented, driven engineer to advance EmpoorioChain capabilities and deliver production-quality identity infrastructure. This internship offers hands-on exposure to open standards, on-chain anchoring, and shipping code reviewed by senior protocol engineers.
Responsibilities
- Complete a scoped project with mentorship from a senior engineer on the host team
- Participate in design reviews, standups, and documentation practices
- Present outcomes at end-of-internship demo to protocol and ecosystem stakeholders
- Contribute tests, samples, or research notes merged to public repositories where appropriate
- Learn production practices for sovereign identity — keys, credentials, and chain anchoring
Basic qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, cryptography, electrical engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated project experience in Rust, TypeScript, mobile, or systems programming
- Familiarity with git, code review, and collaborative development workflows
- Strong written communication and curiosity about digital identity or distributed systems
Preferred skills and experience
- Experience with W3C Verifiable Credentials, DIDs, or OIDC4VCI / OIDC4VP
- Contributions to Rust, TypeScript, Python, or Dart codebases used in production
- Exposure to Substrate, Polkadot ecosystem, or blockchain anchoring patterns
- Background in privacy engineering, applied cryptography, or formal security reviews
- Prior work with wallet, fintech, or enterprise identity integrations
Additional requirements
- Willing to overlap with EU and Americas time zones for critical releases and incidents
- Able to travel up to 10% for team summits, partner workshops, or conferences
- Reliable home internet and secure workstation suitable for development on sensitive cryptography code
